In 1932, The letter over letter series began. This was done to keep a uniform plate size. All previous plates over 4 digits
were replaced with these. Starting with A/A-1 and going up to A/A-999, then flipping to A/B-1 etc etc.. Older plates such
as A-1 through Z-999 and 1-9999 would be continued. (GL Collection)
